LEVEL: New interview with producer Thomas Böcker

With Final Symphony set for its Stockholm debut on June 18, 2014, leading Swedish game magazine LEVEL talks to Thomas Böcker about his career.

In a brand new interview with Swedish video game magazine LEVEL, Final Symphony producer Thomas Böcker talks eagerly about the upcoming concert in Stockholm and what inspired him to create his world-renowned musical showpieces.

“Thomas Böcker loved the music of the Commodore 64 and the Super NES sound chip. He recorded his favorite pieces on tape and dreamed of hearing orchestras perform the work of Chris Hülsbeck and Nobuo Uematsu. Today, he is the most respected concert producer of video game music in the world.”

Among other topics, Böcker speaks about the computer games of his childhood, the ongoing development of his concert series and his relation to Nobuo Uematsu: “Nobuo Uematsu has been a role model and teacher for me. Someone who has supported me all these years - someone who has encouraged me to go my own way. I will be forever grateful for this. I will always look at him as my mentor.”

The full article is available to read in issue 95 of LEVEL, which is available to buy now. A few remaining tickets for Final Symphony Stockholm – which takes place June 18, 2014 – are still available for purchase at the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra official website.
